Zebras vs. Unicorns

Really interested in how this meme is spreading to journalists, and how it might bounce back to the public.

Most beautiful flaming unicorn from indie.vc

Simply defined, Zebras would be 2X companies with early revenue and sustainable growth. Unicorns would be 10X companies with disruptive growth and late monetization.

I've mentioned, a lot... that most impact companies, and especially startups operating in critical sectors, have zebra-stripes, not unicorn horns.

Zebra funders also tend to fund 8x more women because the revenue metrics favor woman-owned businesses.

So big shout out to indie.vc and their iconic, and beloved flaming unicorn. Our society has moved past a lot of the quick fixes and fast-moving technology gains. Stable societies also don't need more billionaires, they need stable middle classes.

As more and more of us see our jobs converting to high-tech solutions we need more options for high-tech family businesses and small profitable companies that solve significant, localized, real-world problems.
