Prevention Pods testing

Prevention Pods was an international, concierge COVID-19 service for film & television.

At its height, it employed 300+ consultants working across North America to provide concierge and on-set production testing for major motion pictures.

The project was initiated when testing turnaround times from leading industry providers were >7 days. Our first RT-PCR turnaround was 6 hours, predominantly due to partnership with >17 scientific laboratories who were undervalued due to diversity ownership.

We became involved in the film industry when unofficially consulted by IATSE Local 80 to assist in negotiating COVID-prevention protocols for their Return to Work agreement. Applying principles of preventive medicine and public health, and with long-suffering our first filmset had 0 cases of COVID despite filming in Georgia during the height of the pandemic.

Consultants who worked on this project included Concierge consultants who performed testing, and Fixer consultants who established an autonomous and high-performing courier network. We achieved an average of 12-hr turnaround times for hundreds of tests with a legendarily high level of accuracy. (Often diagnosing COVID far in advance of symptoms or transmission and with greater accuracy than competing labs. )

When the vaccine came out the network closed down testing operations and clinical staff decided to move to preventive medicine services. Now the network offers consultations on yoga, food-as-medicine, behavior design, ethnobotany, and psychedelics for mental health.

We are justifiably proud of this project, our laboratory partners, and our two-year collaboration with hundreds of producers and film-industry veterans. We worked closely with over 50 different production companies including Disney/Marvel, Fox Sports, Netflix, and Black Label Films.
